Isso Wade (Signature Prawn Patty) Tour – Street Food Tour in Colombo

(3 Hour Tour )

The tour will start from Galle Face where we will try the famous ‘Isso Wade’

Then we will visit a cafe where the iconic Duran Duran song Save a Prayer was filmed while on the food tour of Colombo. We will also sample a variety of deep-fried appetizers, short eats (local pastries), and achcharu (fresh fruits mixed with spices).

We'll eat rice and curry for lunch, of course. If you feel particularly daring, we can even eat it by hand. If you're not quite ready to embrace Sri Lankan cuisine fully just yet, we can also eat with a spoon.

We'll watch how hoppers (local pancakes) are made on the street and listen to kottu because this dish is well-known not for its flavor but for its distinctive sound.

Snack shops abound in the town and on the seaside. The sound of spatulas clashing against metal frying pans should alert you that fresh kottu is being produced. Roti, veggies, eggs, and spices are all quickly chopped over a hot, flat frying surface to make the dish kottu. The resulting meal is a favorite among Sri Lankans; as always, you may increase the spice by adding sambol and chutney or keep it mild by omitting the chillies.

The hopper, one of Sri Lanka's best snacks, is a fantastic opportunity to sample it today! These delectable delicacies are made of bowl-shaped, ultra-thin pancakes made of rice flour. A wide range of fillings are offered, from fried eggs for breakfast to hearty, flavorful curries or vegetable entrees.
